ITS PASSAGE.

CHAPTER 122
(House Bill 679)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 160 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County (1961 Edition,
being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Dorchester County," subtitle "County Commissioners and
Treasurer," subheading "Board of Estimates," as last amended by
Chapter 825 of the Acts of 1963; to change the time of the sitting
of the County Commissioners of Dorchester County as the Board
of Estimates for consideration of the County budget and to change
the time for advertising the sitting of the Board of Estimates.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 160 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester
County (1961 Edition, being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland), title "Dorchester County," subtitle "County
Commissioners and Treasurer," subheading "Board of Estimates,"
as last amended by Chapter 825 of the Acts of 1963, be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

160.

The Board of County Commissioners shall during the entire month
of [May] April of each year give notice to the people of Dor-
chester County, by advertisement thereof in at least two newspa-
pers of general circulation and published in said county, of the times
and place of the sitting of the said Board of Estimates during the
following [June] May and that at such sittings the said Board of
Estimates will receive and consider applications for improvements
and such other matters as may be brought before them in connection
with which money may be appropriated.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate preser-
vation of the public health and safety and having been passed by a
yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members
elected to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same
shall take effect from the date of its passage.
