1402 JOINT RESOLUTIONS
Whereas, The unprecedented growth of Prince George's County
is, and will be entailing a very substantial increase in public schools
and other public buildings and
Whereas, It is deemed advisable in the interests of economy to
review the entire construction program without intent to curtail
what is necessary; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That there be
established a committee consisting of the following persons to under-
take such a study:
A member of the Board of Education
A member of the Board of County Commissioners
A building contractor
A representative of the Building Trades Council of the AFL-
CIO—Washington Metropolitan Area
An architect who is a member of the AIA
A Consulting Engineer
Three other citizens who have been residents of Prince George's
County for no less than five years, one of whom shall be designated
Chairman.
The study committee shall be appointed by a selection committee
consisting of the Chairman of the Board of County Commissioners,
the President of the Board of Education, the Chairman of the Prince
George's County Delegation to the General Assembly, and the State
Senator.
Among the questions to be studied will be the advisability and
feasibility of placing the responsibility for all construction of public
buildings under the supervision of one department, and the present
methods of awarding and inspecting construction thereunder in
regard to its efficiency and economy. The committee shall report its
findings to the members of the General Assembly from Prince
George's County and to the County Commissioners for Prince
George's County no later than November 1, 1967.

Whereas, On Friday, March 2, 1962, at about 10:30 p.m. Mr. C.
Roland Gartrell, 11820 Huggins Drive, Wheaton, Maryland, Mont-
gomery County, was walking down Georgia Avenue in Wheaton,
Maryland, and passed in front of a building located at 11262 Georgia
