perform such other duties as shall be properly assigned to him by
the said judge and he shall receive an annual salary of the sum of
not less than three thousand dollars ($3,000.00), to be paid him in
twelve equal monthly installments by the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County and may be increased at any time by the said
County Commissioners from county funds; the said clerk before en-
tering upon his duties shall give bond to the State of Maryland in
the penalty of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) with corporate
surety satisfactory to said County Commissioners, the premium of
said bond to be paid by the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County. The Sheriff of Wicomico County shall receive for his services
in serving each writ of fieri facias a fee of two dollars ($2.00), and
the clerk of the People's Court shall not issue writ until the person,
firm, or corporation ordering the issuance of the same shall pay said
fee to said clerk; and the clerk of the People's Court shall forward
the fee directly to the county treasurer of Wicomico County. If
there is a sale of the property seized under the writ of fieri facias,
the aforesaid $2.00 fee shall be credited to the court costs, however,
if no property seized the $2.00 fee shall be forfeited. The said judge
of the People's Court shall also have the authority to appoint an
additional clerical assistant or assistants as may be necessary from
time to time, by and with the advice and consent of the County
Commissioners of Wicomico County, said County Commissioners to
fix the pay and compensation therefor; said additional clerical as-
sistant or assistants, appointed as aforesaid, before entering upon
his, her or their duties thereof, shall give bond to the State of
Maryland in the penalty of five thousand ($5,000.00) with corporate
surety satisfactory to said County Commissioners, the premium of
said bond or bonds to be paid by the County Commissioners of
Wicomico County. From and after May 1, 1967, no trial magistrate
shall be appointed for Wicomico County.

(h) In Wicomico County there shall be two substitute trial mag-
istrates, each of whom shall receive a salary of three hundred dol-
lars per annum. Each substitute trial magistrate shall be subject to
all the other laws relating to substitute magistrates. From and
after May 1, 1967, no substitute trial magistrate shall be appointed
in Wicomico County; and no substitute trial magistrate in office on
said date shall have any of the powers conferred upon trial magis-
trates or substitute trial magistrates by this article.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That new Sections 156A 166A
and 194B through 194-0, inclusive, be and they are hereby added to
the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edition,
being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Wicomico County," Section 156A 166A thereof under the subtitle
"Justices of the Peace" and to follow immediately after Section 156
166 thereof and Sections 194B through 194P 210A through 210N,
inclusive, to follow immediately after Section 191A 210 thereof and
to be under the new subtitle "People's Court of Wicomico County"
and all to read as follows:

156 A 166A.

From and after May 1, 1967, the provisions of this subtitle shall
be deemed to be repealed and of no further effect whatsoever.
