Attorney and deputy State's Attorney in Anne Arundel County
and to provide for an increase in the number of assistants State's
attorneys and to provide that the clerk shall be designated as the
administrative assistant.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (c) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1965 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact,"
subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

40.                                                                           

(c) In Anne Arundel County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary-
is [twelve] thirteen thousand dollars [($12,000.00)] ($13,000.00)
annually. (2) The State's Attorney may appoint a deputy State's
attorney whose salary shall be as set by the County Council of Anne
Arundel County, but not less than [eight] ten thousand dollars
[($8,000.00)1 ($10,000.00) annually. (3) The State's Attorney may
appoint [four] six assistant State's attorneys, each of whose sal-
aries shall be as set by the County Council of Anne Arundel County,
but [each] four of whose salaries shall not be less than six thou-
sand five hundred dollars ($6,500.00) annually and two of whose sala-
ries shall not be less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00).
(4) The
State's Attorney may appoint one [clerk] administrative assistant
whose salary shall be as set by the County Council of Anne Arundel
County but not less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) annually.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1966.

CHAPTER 738
(House Bill 1112)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 159 (c)
and 159(h) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1965
Supplement), title "Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "County Liquor
Control Boards and Dispensaries," amending the alcoholic beverage
laws with particular respect to the appointment, compensation and
mileage of the Liquor Control Board in Worcester County.

Whereas, because of a printer's error, the alcoholic beverage laws
for Worcester County now specify an annual compensation of $100.00
for members of the Liquor Control Board of Worcester County; and

Whereas, This figure has not been changed from the $1,000.00 pro-
vided for such compensation; and

Whereas, it is desirable to correct this error and also to provide an
additional increase in this compensation while making other changes
in the laws relating to the Liquor Control Board of Worcester County;
now, therefore, be it
