graph shall relate to or affect the retirement of any bailiff who retired
or who left his position under this section prior to January 1, 1964.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1966.

(Senate Bill 238)
AN ACT to add new Article 95C to the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), to follow immediately after Article
95B thereof and to be under the new title "Uniform Disposition of
Unclaimed Property", to enact the Uniform Disposition of Un-
claimed Property Act, to generally provide for the custody by the
State of Maryland of specified presumed abandoned and unclaimed
personal property, tangible and intangible, for the disposition of
such property to the counties, Baltimore City, and to the State of
Maryland, and to provide for the administration of this Act by
the State.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,,
That new Article 95C be and it is hereby added to the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement Volume), to follow immediately
after Article 95B thereof, to be under the new title "Uniform Dis-
position of Unclaimed Property", and to read as follows:
Article 95C
"Uniform Disposition of Unclaimed Property"
1. (a) As used in this Article, unless the context otherwise
requires:
(b) "Banking organization" means any banking institution as
this term is defined from time to time in Section 63 of Article 11 of
this Code.
(c) "Business association" means any corporation organized and
existing under the provisions of Article 23 of this Code as amended
from time to time, partnership, or any association for business pur-
poses of two or more individuals.
(d) "Financial organization" means any building, sayings and loan
or homestead association, or credit union, engaged in business in
this State.
(e) "Holder" means any person in possession of property subject
to this Article belonging to another, or who is trustee in case of a
trust, or indebted to another on an obligation subject to this Article.
(f) "Insurance corporation" means any association or corporation
transacting within this State the business of insurance on the lives
of persons or insurance appertaining thereto, including, but not by
way of limitation, endowments and annuities; disability, accident and
health insurance; and property, casualty and surety insurance; as all
