place when the Treasurer is absent or incapacitated. The Treasurer
and his successor in office shall execute to the State of Maryland a
corporate surety bond in such penal sum as the State Comptroller
may prescribe, with the condition that if the above bound Treasurer
shall well and faithfully execute his office and shall account for to
the Comptroller and pay to the Treasurer of the State the several
sums of money which he shall receive for the State, or be answerable
for by law, at such times as the law shall direct, then the said obliga-
tion to be void, otherwise to remain in full force and effect, and shall
execute a bond to Cecil County in the penalty of Thirty Thousand Dol-
lars, conditioned for the proper collection and disbursement of all
moneys coming into his hands for the county and the faithful per-
formance of other duties devolving upon him; said bonds to be ap-
proved, as the bonds of the Sheriff of the respective counties of this
State are approved, and recorded in the office of the Clerk of the
Circuit Court for Cecil County and after recording, the bonds to the
State shall be filed with the State Comptroller; and the said Treasurer
before he shall enter upon the duties of his said office shall take and
subscribe before said clerk the oath prescribed by Section 6 of Ar-
ticle 1 of the Constitution of the State.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 81
(Senate Bill 138)

AN ACT to repeal Section 171 of Article 19 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County",
sub-title "Removal of Property Levied On", repealing a duplicating
local law of St. Mary's County upon the subject of removing prop-
erty which has been levied upon by a law officer.

Whereas, Section 171 in the local laws of St. Mary's County con-
cerns the removal of property which has been levied upon by a law
officer; and

Whereas, This section is adequately covered in Section 214 of
Article 27 of the Annotated Code; now, therefore

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 171 of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Re-
moval of Property Levied On", be and it is hereby repealed.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
