and sub-title (1964 Supplement), be and they are hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments; that Section 85 (a) of such Article
and title, sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", (1964 Supplement),
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, and
all to read as follows:

18.

(1-1) In St. Mary's County there shall be two Class A licenses;
the first shall be known as a Class A-1 License and shall be a seven
day license at an annual license fee of four hundred dollars ($400.00);
the second shall be designated a Class A-2 License and shall be a six
day license at an annual license fee of three hundred dollars ($300.00).

(0)  This section shall not apply to Caroline, Dorchester, Garrett,
Harford, Kent, Montgomery, [St. Mary's,] Somerset, Wicomico and
Worcester counties, in all of which jurisdictions such licenses shall
not be issued.

21.

(1)  In St. Mary's County, the annual fee for a Class D beer, wine
and liquor license shall be two hundred and fifty dollars ($250.00),
and for a special Class D beer, wine and liquor license entitling the
holder to sell on Sunday, four hundred dollars ($400.00). [Said
special Class D license shall be issued by the clerk of the Circuit
Court of said county, the privileges of which are to be exercised
only by restaurants and hotels.]

85. (a) The hours during which the privileges conferred by a
Class A beer, wine and liquor license may be exercised shall be from
6 o'clock A.M. to 12 o'clock midnight, on every day except Sunday.
Provided, that (1) in Annapolis the hours may be fixed by the
mayor, counsellor and aldermen of the City of Annapolis, (2) in
Cecil County the hours shall be from 6 o'clock A.M. to 11 o'clock P.M.,
[and] (3) in Talbot County the hours shall be from 8 o'clock A.M.
to 12 o'clock midnight, and (4) in St. Mary's County holders of a
Class A-1 License shall be entitled to sell on Sunday.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 587
(Senate Bill 544)

AN ACT to add new Section 89 (g) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", to
follow immediately after Section 89 (f) thereof, to permit the
Board of License Commissioners in St. Mary's County to allow
the holder of any on-sale alcoholic beverage license to keep his
establishment open on New Year's Day.
