as added by Chapter 347 of the Acts of 1961; to remove an obso-
lete reference to time and to provide that employees of St. Mary's
County on the effective date of the classified service system relat-
ing to their positions be included in the system without the neces-
sity of examination.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 45F of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County", sub-title "Clas-
sified Service", as added by Chapter 347 of the Acts of 1961, be and
it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
45F. Upon the adoption of classifications and salary schedules
for each position in the classified service, those employees who [on
January 1, 1961] on the effective date of the implementation thereof
filled the respective positions shall automatically and without exami-
nation, become a classified employee of the classified system, subject
to all of the provisions hereunder; provided that an employee receiv-
ing a higher salary than that provided in the salary schedule shall
not have his or her salary decreased, or increased until adjustments
for increments to which he or she is entitled shall have exceeded the
salary being received, and provided further that each employee shall
be classified in that position, the duties of which he had been per-
forming for at least six months prior to [January 1, 1961] the effec-
tive date of implementation.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to add new Section 18 (1-1) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages", sub-
title "Beer, Wine and Liquor Licenses", to follow immediately
after Section 18 (1) thereof; to repeal and re-enact, with amend-
ments, Section 21 (i) of such Article, title and sub-title, and
Section 18 (o) of such Article, title and sub-title (1964 Supple-
ment), and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 85
(a) of such Article and title, sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale",
(1964 Supplement), to delete an obsolete restriction of certain
sales limited to restaurants and hotels, and to establish six day
and seven day off-sale or package goods licenses in St. Mary's
County and the fees payable for each.
