AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 43B of
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "County Commissioners",
as said section was enacted by Chapter 129 of the Acts of 1955,
amending the laws concerning levies made by the County Commis-
sioners of Carroll County in order to remove therefrom a duplicat-
ing provision for the payment of the salary of a secretary to the
Judge of the Circuit Court for Carroll County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 43B of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "County
Commissioners", as said section was enacted by Chapter 129 of the
Acts of 1955, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
43B. The County Commissioners shall levy annually and collect
from the assessable property in Carroll County, as other county
taxes are levied and collected, such sum or sums of money as in their
discretion, may from time to time be necessary [for the payment of
the salary of a secretary to the Judge of the Circuit Court for Carroll
County, and] for the stamps, stationery, mileage and other reason-
able expenses incident to the office of [said] the Judge of the Circuit
Court for Carroll County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 61A of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County (1957 Edition,
being Article 14 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Howard County", sub-title "County Commissioners and
County Collectors", as added by Chapter 529 of the Acts of 1961,
relating to the payment of pensions to retired regular employees of
Howard County and limiting the application of said Act and the
benefits conferred thereunder to employees of the County who
would become eligible for retirement under the terms of said Act
prior to June 1, 1965, and providing for the exclusion of those
employees from the benefits of said Act who are eligible for retire-
ment under the State Retirement System.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 61A of the Code of Public Local Laws of Howard County
