amendments; and that Section 45 of said Article and sub-title, as
enacted by Chapter 164 of the Acts of 1951, be and it is hereby
repealed, as follows:
43.
The County Commissioners of Carroll County shall annually levy
and collect from the assessable property in Carroll County, as other
county taxes are levied and collected the sum of 3¢ per $100.00 of
the value of such property, which sum of money the said County
Commissioners shall distribute and pay to the several volunteer fire
companies in said county for the support, maintenance, equipment
(including ambulances) and operation of said volunteer fire com-
panies; and that said sum of money shall be proportioned and
distributed among said volunteer fire companies upon the recom-
mendation of the executive committee of the Carroll County Volunteer
Firemen's Association. The County Commissioners of Carroll County
are hereby authorized and empowered, in their discretion and upon
the submission to them of a detailed financial report, together with a
detailed report of all assets and liabilities, by each volunteer fire
company in said county, to increase the annual levy [of] to 5¢ per
$100.00 of the value of the assessable property in Carroll County,
to collect such sum and to distribute it to the several volunteer fire
companies in said county as provided in this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(Senate Bill 96)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 16 of
Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Carroll County", sub-title "Circuit Court", as said
section was last amended by Chapter 126 of the Acts of 1959; to
repeal Sections 19-28, inclusive, of said Article and sub-title, sub-
heading "Practice Act"; and to enact a new Section 19 to stand
in the place of the Section 19 so repealed and to be under the new
sub-heading "Unclaimed Personal Property", amending the local
laws of Carroll County concerning the terms of the Circuit Court,
repealing the so-called Practice Act as being obsolete, making
provision for the disposition of unclaimed personal property in the
custody of the Circuit Court, and relating generally to the laws
affecting the Circuit Court of Carroll County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 16 of Article 7 of the Code of Public Local Laws of

Court", as said section was last amended by Chapter 126 of the Acts
of 1959, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
