Area", creating the subdivision of McCoole in Allegany County as
a special taxing area for the purpose of providing electric lights
along the streets, alleys, and public ways of McCoole, denning the
extent of the special taxing area, providing for the imposition of
certain taxes therein, and relating generally to the duties of the
County Commissioners and of the subdivision of McCoole with
respect to such electric lighting system; and submitting this act
to a referendum of the voters in said tax area.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Sections 473A to 473D, inclusive, be and they are hereby
added to the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1963
Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Allegany County", to follow immediately after Section
473 thereof, to be under the new sub-title "McCoole Special Tax
Area", and to read as follows:
McCOOLE SPECIAL TAX AREA
473A.
For the purpose of this sub-title the subdivision of McCoole, in
Allegany County, as hereinafter described, constitutes a special tax-
ing area or district and shall be deemed and taken to comprise those
certain parcels of land as follows:
The following described being the perimeter of McCoole, lying and
being in Allegany County, State of Maryland, and more fully
described by metes and bounds as follows, to-wit:
BEGINNING at a steel stake in the west boundary limits of east
Maryland Avenue, said stake being the eastern termination of said
avenue, thence crossing said avenue S 31° 40' W 70 ft. to the south
side of said avenue; thence with the south side of said avenue N 58°
20' W 20 ft; thence leaving said avenue S 31° 4.0' W 300 ft. to the
south side of east Queen Street; thence with the south side of said
street N 59° 40' W 80 ft; thence leaving said street S 31° 40' W 190
ft. to the north boundary of the Western Maryland Railroad; thence
with said railroad for the next nine calls, N 42° 30' W 182 ft; N 58°
10' W 850 ft; N 45° 00' W 240 ft; N 37° 00' W 250 ft; N. 44° 00' W
210 ft; N 47° 30' W 240 ft; N 58° 00' W 1140 ft; N 44° 30' W 700
ft; N 51° 00' W 220 ft.; thence leaving said railroad and crossing
Maryland State Highway No. 135 N 26° 00' E 130 ft. to a steel stake;
thence N 20° 00' E 50 ft to a steel stake; thence N 16° 00' E 50 ft
to a steel stake; thence N 37° 00' E 50 ft. to a steel stake; thence
N 42° 00' E 175 ft. to a steel stake; thence N 61° 00' E 1965 ft
crossing U. S. Route No. 220 to a Potomac Edison pole No. G 6609,
said pole is located at the intersection of Maryland State Route No.
135 and Charles Street; thence crossing said route and street EAST
350 ft. to a steel stake; thence S 54° 00' E 2240 ft. to a steel stake in
the west side of Virginia Avenue; thence crossing said avenue S 43°
30' E 350 ft to a steel stake; thence S 52° 00' E 180 ft. to a steel
stake; thence S 39° 00' W 800 ft to a steel stake; thence N 52° 00'
W 150 ft. to a steel stake; thence S 31° 40' W 570 ft. to a steel stake;
thence S 58° 20' E 230 ft; thence S 31° 40' W 515 ft. to the
BEGINNING.
