Committee shall give bond to the Board of County Commissioners,
to be approved by a Judge of the Circuit Court of Allegany County,
in a penal sum to be fixed by the Judge, conditioned upon the faithful
discharge of the duties of the Treasurer.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

Approved March 11, 1965.

CHAPTER 57
(Senate Bill 22)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 25(1)
of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle "2. Insurance De-
partment and Insurance Commissioner," to require the Insurance
Commissioner to refer cases involving criminal violations of the
Insurance Code to the State's Attorney of the county or of Balti-
more City or to the Attorney General, as the case may be, for
prosecution.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 25(1) of Article 48A of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Replacement Volume), title "Insurance Code," subtitle
"2. Insurance Department and Insurance Commissioner," be and it
is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:

25.

(1) The Commissioner may institute such suits or other legal
proceedings as may be required for the enforcement of any provisions
of this article. If the Commissioner has reason to believe that any
person has violated any provision of this article for which criminal
prosecution is provided, he shall so inform the [Attorney General]
State's Attorney of the county or of Baltimore City either where the
person resides or the violation occurred. If there is a violation of any
provision of this article which is state-wide in nature and which has
no local situs within the state the violation shall be referred to the
Attorney General for prosecution.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
