INCLUSIVE OF FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS; EXCEPT
THAT ANY UTILITY POLES BEING TRANSPORTED BY OR
FOR ANY PUBLIC UTILITY COMPANY SHALL NOT BE SUB-
JECT TO THE LIMITATIONS PROVIDED IN THIS SEC-
TION AS TO OVER-ALL LENGTH, AND FURTHER PROVIDED
THAT PILING, AND/OR POLES AND MILL LOGS SHALL NOT
BE SUBJECT TO THE LIMITATIONS PROVIDED IN THIS
SECTION AS TO THE OVER-ALL LENGTH, AND PROVIDED
FURTHER THAT VEHICLES OR TRAILERS TRANSPORTING
BOATS OR VESSELS COMMONLY KNOWN AS CREW OR ROW-
ING SHELLS FOR USE IN INTERSCHOLASTIC OR INTER-
COLLEGIATE ROWING CONTESTS SHALL NOT BE SUBJECT
TO THE LIMITATIONS OF THIS SECTION AS TO OVER-ALL
LENGTH. NOTHING IN THIS SECTION SHALL PROHIBIT
THE TRANSPORTATION, BY A COMBINATION OF VEHICLES,
OF ARTICLES IMPOSSIBLE OF DISMEMBERMENT WHICH
DO NOT EXCEED SEVENTY (70) FEET IN LENGTH.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act be hereby declared
an emergency law and necessary for the immediate preservation of
the public health and safety, and being passed by a yea and nay vote
supported by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take effect from
the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 436
(House Bill 1137)

AN ACT to add new Section 205A to Article 66½ of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle
"Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," to follow immediately
after Section 205 thereof, to provide for the effect of legal proceed-
ings in courts of copies or photostats of books, records and pro-
ceedings of the Department of Motor Vehicles, to provide for
receipt of such copies or photostats in court, and to permit em-
ployees of the Department to appear in court in answer to subpoenas
duces tecum for books, records and proceedings of the Department.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 205A be and it is hereby added to Article 66½ of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Motor Ve-
hicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles Upon Highways," to follow
immediately after Section 205 thereof, and to read as follows:

205A.

(a) A copy or photostat of any books, papers, entries, records,
or proceedings pertaining to the Department of Motor Vehicles,
when certified to as being correct by an employee of the Department
specially designated for this purpose by the Commissioner of Motor
Vehicles, shall be received as evidence in any court of law or equity
