Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 423
(House Bill 750)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 28 of
Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supplement),
title "County Commissioners," subtitle "General Provisions";
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 2-4, 2-5,
and 13-17 of the Frederick County Code, 1959 (being Article 11
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Frederick
County," Sections 2-4 and 2-5 thereof being under the subtitle
"Chapter 2. Administration," subheading "Article II. County Com-
missioners," and Section 13-17 thereof being under the subtitle
"Chapter 13. Roads and Public Grounds," subheading "Article II.
County Roads Board," and having been last amended by Chapter
668 of the Acts of 1963; to change the compensation, mileage, ex-
penses and other payments of the County Commissioners of
Frederick County, to provide for their attendance at their offices
and at meetings of county boards and agencies.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 28 of Article 25 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Supplement), title "County Commissioners," subtitle "General
Provisions," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

28.

The county commissioners of the several counties shall each receive
three dollars per day for each day they shall be engaged in the dis-
charge of their duties, and mileage at the rate of ten cents for every
mile over five miles from their places of residence, except the County
Commissioners of Baltimore County, who shall have and receive a
salary of one thousand dollars per year each, including mileage, pay-
able monthly by the treasurer of said county; and said County Com-
missioners of Baltimore County are hereby required and directed
to meet at their office in the courthouse in Towson, on Tuesday and
Wednesday of each week, and to meet daily for the transaction of the
public business from the first Tuesday in March until after the annual
levy is made, except that compensation for County Commissioners of
Talbot County shall be as set forth in Article 21 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland and compensation for County Com-
missioners of St. Mary's County shall be as set forth in Article 19
of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland. Compensation for
County Commissioners of Carroll County as set forth in Article 7 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition, as
amended) shall be in addition to the above authorized expense monies.
Compensation for County Commissioners of Frederick County shall
be as provided in the local laws of the County in lieu of any compensa-
tion or expenses provided for in this section.
