508                              LAWS OF MARYLAND                      [CH. 349

Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St.
Mary's County," to follow immediately after Section 77G thereof,
as added by Chapter 759 of the Acts of 1957, to be under the new
subtitle "Flag," and to read as follows:

77H.

The official flag of St. Mary's County is a fire-engine red square
measuring three feet on an edge, in the center of which is appliqued
the official seal of the county as adopted and described in the minutes
of the meeting of the County Commissioners for October 1, 1963.
The flag is of double thickness and the seal appears on both faces.

The seal as so appliqued is twenty-three inches in diameter.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 349
(House Bill 988)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 40 (s)
of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney," to increase the salary of the State's Attorney
of St. Mary's County and eliminate a provision for an expense
allowance payable to him.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 40 (s) of Article 10 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

40.

(s) In St. Mary's County, [1] the State's Attorney's salary is
[three thousand dollars ($3,000)] Seven Thousand five hundred
dollars ($7,500.00).

[(2) The State's Attorney's allowance for expenses incidental
to his office is thirty-six hundred dollars ($3,600).]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
as to both salary and expense allowance shall not be construed to
extend or apply to the State's Attorney in office on the effective
date of this Act, but the provisions of this Act shall take effect with
the next term of office.

Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.
