(House Bill 1011)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (1) of
Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume) title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and Duties," to
increase the salary of the Sheriff of Harford County effective with
the next term of office.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (1) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume) title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensa-
tion and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
37.
(1) The Sheriff of Harford County shall receive an annual salary
of [$8,500.] ten thousand dollars ($10,000). He shall appoint such
deputies and at such compensation as may be provided by the County
Commissioners of said county.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the Sheriff in office on
the effective date of this Act but the provisions of this Act shall take
effect with the next term of office.
Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(House Bill 1012)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 10 (m)
of Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in Fact," subtitle
"State's Attorney;" increasing the salary of the State's Attorney
of Harford County and providing for a Deputy State's Attorney
and an Assistant State's Attorney and their salaries.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10 (m) of Article 40 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Supplement), title "Attorneys at Law and Attorneys in
Fact," subtitle "State's Attorney," be and it is hereby repealed and
re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

(m) In Harford County, (1) the State's Attorney's salary is
seven thousand dollars ($7,000). On and after January 1, 1967 he
shall receive ten thousand dollars ($10,000) per year salary.
