preferred. The deer which may be taken under this provision shall
be disposed of by the Director of the Commission as he may deem
advisable and for the best interests of the State.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 253
(House Bill 682)
AN ACT to add new Section 9 (59) to Article 81 of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1964 Supplement), title "Revenue and Taxes,"
subtitle "What Shall Be Taxed and Where," to follow immediately
after Section 9 (58) thereof, providing that green coffee beans
imported from foreign countries shall be exempt from taxation
while in the possession of the importer until some physical or
chemical change is made in such beans by some manufacturing
process.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 9 (59) be and it is hereby added to Article 81 of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supplement), title "Revenue
and Taxes," subtitle "What Shall Be Taxed and Where," to follow
immediately after Section 9 (58) thereof, and to read as follows:
9.
(59) Green coffee beans imported from foreign countries while
in the possession of and owned by the importer so long as no physical
or chemical change has been made by any manufacturing process in
such beans regardless of whether they are in their original packages.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(House Bill 1194)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (d)
of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-
ment Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and Duties,"
as amended by Chapter 157 of the Laws of 1965, to increase the
amount of money allocated the Sheriff and deputy sheriffs of Cal-
vert County for expenses.
