(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensa-
tion and Duties," as amended by Chapter 157 of the Laws of 1965,
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read
as follows:
37.
(d) The Sheriff of Calvert County shall receive an annual salary
of $5,000 and $2,500 for all expenses. The said Sheriff shall appoint
two deputy sheriffs to serve at the pleasure of said Sheriff and under
his direction. Each deputy sheriff shall receive an annual salary in
the amount of $4,000 and an allowance for expenses in an annual
amount of $2,500. In addition to the salaries above set forth, [a
Sheriff or his deputy shall be entitled to the sum of fifteen dollars
($15.00) per trip for each trip which he shall be required to make
outside of the County.] the sheriff and deputies shall be reimbursed
for actual expenses incurred for trips outside the territorial limits
of Calvert County up to a sum not to exceed $15.00 per trip.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.

(House Bill 185)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 99 of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle "Trial Magistrate
System," to increase the number of days during which time sentence
can be modified by a judge of the People's Court of Prince George's
County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 99 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Justices of the Peace," subtitle
"Trial Magistrate System," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
99.
The judges of the People's Court of Montgomery County, except the
People's Court judge for juvenile causes, and the judges of the
People's Court of Prince George's County, shall have all the authority,
powers, civil, criminal and juvenile jurisdiction (except the judges
of the People's Court of Prince George's County shall not have
juvenile jurisdiction), in the whole of said counties, heretofore vested
in the justices of the peace designated as trial magistrates and other
justices of the peace of said counties; provided the authority, powers
and jurisdiction heretofore, or as may hereafter be vested in said
other justices of the peace shall be unaffected by this provision.
In addition to the powers above enumerated, and not in derogation
or limitation thereof, the judges of the People's Court shall have the
following powers:
