5. It shall be unlawful to hunt any
upland game in any manner in Gar-
rett and Allegany Counties during
the open season for the hunting of
deer.
During regular male deer season
only, if prescribed by the Commis-
sion.
May be hunted, pursued, or killed
for a period of eight hunting
days beginning on that Friday
immediately following Thanks-
giving in each and every year.
The Commission may prescribe an
open season for antlerless deer,
by special permit, at such times
and in such counties as the Com-
mission shall in its discretion
prescribe by regulation said
antlerless deer season to be con-
cluded on the third Saturday in
December and the Commission
may consider, among other fac-
tors, the deer population surveys,
crop damage, kill of previous
seasons, car kill, and size, weight,
health, age and doe-fawn ratios
of deer in the said counties in
reaching such decision.
In counties having a bow and ar-
row season, deer of either sex
may be killed between Septem-
ber 1 and December 31, by means
of a bow and arrow.
In any county or election district of the State, the Commission may
reduce the deer population in areas suffering from crop damage after
thorough investigation shows that such action is justified. The
method of reducing the deer population shall be at the discretion of
the Commission except that wherever feasible trapping shall be
