Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 231-234, inclusive, of Article 6 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County",
sub-title "Fences", be and it is hereby repealed.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

(Senate Bill 88)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 235,
236 and 237 of Article 6 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County", sub-title "Fire
Companies", as said sections were amended by Chapter 26 of the
Acts of the Special Session of 1948, amending and revising the
local laws of Caroline County concerning the levy and payment of
monies to volunteer fire companies in Caroline County, and relating
generally to such payments and to the terms and conditions thereof.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 235, 236 and 237 of Article 6 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Caroline County",
sub-title "Fire Companies", as said sections were amended by
Chapter 26 of the Acts of the Special Session of 1948, be and they
are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as
follows:
235. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are hereby
authorized and empowered to pay annually [an amount not exceed-
ing Ten Thousand Three Hundred Dollars ($10,300)] such amount
as they determine from time to time to the several volunteer fire
companies of Caroline County so long as said fire companies remain
active bodies, and active fire fighting organizations for the benefit
of said county, said sum of money to be used by the respective fire
companies for the purchase, repair or maintenance of fire fighting
equipment.
236. Said payment shall be made on the first day of September
in each and every year by the County Commissioners of Caroline
County, and it shall be distributed as [follows: fourteen hundred
($1,400) dollars each to the following fire companies, viz.: The
Denton Volunteer Fire Company, of Denton, Maryland; The Fed-
eralsburg Volunteer Fire Company of Federalsburg, Maryland;
Ridgely Volunteer Fire Department, Incorporated, of Ridgely, Mary-
land; Greensboro Volunteer Fire Company, Incorporated; The Mary-
del Volunteer Fire Company, Incorporated; Preston Volunteer Fire
Company, Incorporated; and the Goldsboro Volunteer Fire Company,
Incorporated; and five hundred ($500) dollars to the Hillsboro-
Queen Anne Volunteer Fire Company, Incorporated.] determined by
the County Commissioners from time to time.
237. The County Commissioners of Caroline County are hereby
