levied annually by the County Commissioners of Howard County, and
paid in such installments, and at such times, as the other County
employees are paid. Said Court may, also, from time to time, when-
ever, in its opinion, the same is expedient, appoint special court
reporters and prescribe their duties and compensation; and the
compensation, so prescribed, shall be paid by said County Commis-
sioners.

26.

It shall be the duty of said court stenographer or stenographers
(a) to take full stenographic or stenotypic notes of all proceedings
and testimony in said Court; (b) to prepare and file a typewritten
transcript of such notes whenever so directed by said Court; (c) to
prepare and furnish to any party to any proceeding in said Court a
typewritten transcript of such notes; (d) to act as secretary to that
judge of the Fifth Judicial Circuit of Maryland who is a resident of
Howard County; (e) to act as librarian of the bar library of Howard
County; and (f) generally to perform such stenographic and steno-
typic and secretarial work as said Court, or any other judges thereof,
shall require, or which may be prescribed by law. Before said Court
stenographer or stenographers shall be required to furnish a type-
written transcript of his or her notes to any party to any proceeding,
he or she shall be entitled to demand of, and receive from, such party
compensation for preparing such transcript at such rate as said
Court shall, from time to time, by order prescribe. This compensation
shall be in addition to the salary provided for in Section 25.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 238
(House Bill 405)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 117A (b),
(d), (e), (g) (1), (n), Section 118, Section 125, and Section 126 (e)
of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Supple-
ment), title "Conveyancing," subtitle "Horizontal Property Act,"
to provide that a unit or condominium unit may consist of space
on more than one floor of a building and that a condominium proj-
ect may consist of more than one building.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 117A (b) of Article 21 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1964 Supplement), title "Conveyancing," subtitle "Horizontal
Property Act," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:

117A.

(b) "Unit" or "Condominium Unit" means an enclosed space con-
sisting of one or more rooms occupying all or part of [a floor] one
