I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition),
Do Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 3, 1964, an Act known as Chapter 813 of the
Acts of 1963 was submitted to the voters of Montgomery County,
under the provisions of Chapter 813 of the Acts of 1963, said Act
being as follows:
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 12
(b) through (f) of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), and to add a new
subsection to follow immediately thereafter, designating sub-
section (g), title "Public Education," subtitle "Chapter 2.
Formation of Boards," providing generally for a primary
election system for the County Board of Education of Mont-
gomery County.
and I DO certify that at said election, 54,146 votes were cast in
favor of adoption of Chapter 813 of the Acts of 1963, and 53,848 votes
were cast against adoption of said Chapter 813 of the Acts of 1963, the
said Act has therefore been ratified by a majority of the qualified
voters of Montgomery County.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 1st day of December, 1964.
