I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition),
Do Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 3, 1964, an Act known as Chapter 854 of the
Acts of 1963 was submitted to the voters of Anne Arundel County,
under the provisions of Chapter 854 of the Acts of 1963, said Act being
as follows:
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 18-1
and 18-2 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1957 Edition,
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Anne Arundel County," subtitle "Schools," relating to
the use of public school buses by children attending parochial
schools and relating to the payment of the costs incurred in
the transportation of private school students in Anne Arundel
County and the establishment of new routes for the trans-
portation of such students.
and I DO certify that at said election 21,604 votes were cast in
favor of adoption of Chapter 854 of the Acts of 1963 and 27,648
votes were cast against adoption of said Chapter 854 of the Acts of
1963, the said Act has therefore failed of ratification.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 1st day of December, 1964.
