I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition),
Do Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 3, 1964, an Act known as Chapter 766 of the
Acts of 1963 was submitted to the voters of Queen Anne's County,
under the provisions of Chapter 766 of the Acts of 1963, said Act being
as follows:
AN ACT to add new Section 39D to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title
"Alcoholic Beverages," subtitle "Local Licenses and License
Provisions," to follow immediately after Section 39C thereof
and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 90 (b)
(2) of the said Article of the Code (1962 Supplement), sub-
title "Hours and Days for Sale," to authorize the issuance of
certain alcoholic beverage licenses for Sunday sales in
Queen Anne's County and relating generally to alcoholic
beverages in the county; AND MAKING THE EFFECT OF
THIS ACT SUBJECT TO A REFERENDUM.
and I DO certify that at said election 1,947 votes were cast in
favor of Chapter 766 of the Acts of 1963 and 2,019 votes were cast
against adoption of said Chapter 766 of the Acts of 1963, the said
Act has therefore failed of ratification.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 1st day of December, 1964.
