I, Lloyd L. Simpkins, Secretary of State of the State of
Maryland, pursuant to the direction contained in Section 172 (c)
of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland, (1957 Edition),
Do Hereby Certify, that at the General Election held in the State of
Maryland on November 3, 1964, an Act known as Chapter 208 of the
Acts of 1963 was submitted to the voters of Cecil County, under the
provisions of Chapter 208 of the Acts of 1963, said Act being as
follows:
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37
(g) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962
Supplement), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and
Duties," relating to sheriffs in Cecil County, and their deputies,
compensation and duties; increasing the number of deputies
and the compensation of all sheriffs and deputies.
and I DO certify that at said election 3,408 votes were cast in
favor of adoption of Chapter 208 of the Acts of 1963 and 3,540 votes
were cast against adoption of said Chapter 208 of the Acts of 1963,
the said Act has therefore failed of ratification.
In Testimony Whereof, I have hereunto subscribed my
name and affixed my official seal at the City of
Annapolis, this 1st day of December, 1964.
