coordinating and cooperation among the county government and all
agencies, departments and other independent bodies operating
within the county.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That a committee shall be and is hereby appointed for the purpose
of providing for closer coordination and cooperation of the many
different governing bodies, agencies, and departments operating
within Prince George's County. The membership of this committee
shall be composed of:

(1)   The Chairman or President of the Board of County Commis-
sioners, who shall represent the County Government and all depart-
ments operating thereunder;

(2)   The President of the Board of Education;

(3)  The Superintendent of Schools;

(4)   The Chairman of the MARYLAND-NATIONAL CAPITAL
Park and Planning Commission;

(5)  The Chairman of the Washington Suburban Sanitary Com-
mission ;

(6)  The Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Prince George's
General Hospital;

(7)   The Director of the Prince George's County Health Depart-
ment ;

(8)  The Director of the Welfare Department;

(9)  The Chairman of the Library Board;

(10)   The County Librarian DIRECTOR OF THE PRINCE
GEORGE'S COUNTY MEMORIAL LIBRARY.

(11)  The Chairman of the Recreation Board;

(12)  The President of the County Volunteer Fire Association;

(13)  Three representatives of municipalities who shall be recom-
mended by the Municipal League of Prince George's County and ap-
proved by the President of the Board of County Commissioners; and

(14)  Four representatives of representative unincorporated areas
of the County who shall be appointed by the President of the Board
of County Commissioners.

(15) THE SHERIFF OF PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY.

(16) THE CHIEF OF POLICE OF PRINCE GEORGE'S
COUNTY.

Sec. 2. The duties of the "Coordinating Committee" shall include:

A. Constant review of purchasing procedures for the purpose of
effecting economies, where possible, by coordinating purchasing and
contracting services. The Committee is hereby authorized to create
a centralized purchasing agency, if practicable, which shall be under
the direction of the President of the Board of County Commissioners.
