services as prescribed by the Judges of the Circuit Court. Such em-
ployees shall be subject to removal, with or without cause, upon order
of the Circuit Court.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1965.

CHAPTER 157
(House Bill 371)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 37 (d) of
Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replacement
Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation and Duties," to
increase the amount of money allocated the Sheriff and deputy
sheriffs of Calvert County for expenses.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 37 (d) of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1964 Replacement Volume), title "Sheriffs," subtitle "Compensation
and Duties," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:
37.
(d) The Sheriff of Calvert County shall receive an annual salary
of $5,000 and [$2,000] $2,500 for all expenses. The said Sheriff shall
appoint two deputy sheriffs to serve at the pleasure of said Sheriff
and under his direction. Each deputy sheriff shall receive an annual
salary in the amount of $4,000 and an allowance for expenses in an
annual amount of [$2,000] $2,500. In addition to the salaries above
set forth, a Sheriff or his deputy shall be entitled to the sum of fifteen
dollars ($15.00) per trip for each trip which he shall be required to
make outside of the County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1965.

of Article 87 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1964 Replace-

County.
