licenses in Prince George's County shall not exceed the following
maximum amounts:

Beer license, Class A
Beer license, Class B
Beer license, Class C

Beer license, Class D
Beer and light wine license, Class A
Beer and light wine license, Class B
Beer and light wine license, Class C
Beer and light wine license, Class D
Beer, wine and liquor license, Class A

[4] (2) (4) In Prince George's County no license shall be granted
to sell alcoholic beverages in any building located within one thousand
feet of a church or school building (the said one thousand feet is to
be measured from the front door or main entrance, whichever is
nearest the street abutting the premises, of the proposed licensed
establishment along the nearest usual pedestrian route to the door
closest to the licensed premises which is used as an entrance or exit
to any school, or to the main entrance of the church building),
provided that this restriction shall not apply in the case of a church,
[as to any Class A off sale license or] to any license to sell beer, or
beer and wine, if the governing body of the church concerned shall
consent in writing to the granting of such license, which consent
shall be filed with the application, but the license of any person or
persons now holding a license for any building located within such
distance from a church or school building may be renewed or ex-
tended for the same building. This section shall not apply to any
transfer or assignment of a license now located within the aforesaid
distance of one thousand feet to another place of business within
the aforesaid distance and/or to an assignee of said license within
said distance, nor shall this section apply to the issuance of a license
for a place of business, not having an alcoholic beverage license, to
which an alcoholic beverage license had been issued and was in force
and effect on [April 30, 1955,] June 1, 1965, as to a license of the
same class which was in force and effect as of said date, applied for
in said place of business. This section shall not apply to any licenses
or to any license issued under § 19 (i) (2) or § 25 of this article.
