1222                              LAWS OF MARYLAND                       [CH. 784

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the following sections of Article 33 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition and 1964 Supplement), title "Elections":
Section 29, subtitle "Registration by Judges Acting as Boards of
Registry"; Sections 32 (a) and (c) and 33 (a) and (b), subtitle "Cor-
rection and Revision of Registration by Judges Acting as Boards
of Registry"; Section 38 (b) (3), subtitle "Registration by Permanent
Boards of Registry"; Sections 41 (a) and (b), subtitle "Temporary
Certificates of Registration"; and SECTION 50, SUBTITLE "SPE-
CIAL PROVISIONS IN BALTIMORE CITY"; Section 62 (a), sub-
title "Primary Elections," AND SECTIONS 73 (A), 73 (B) AND
74 (E), SUBTITLE "VACANCIES IN NOMINATIONS IN GEN-
ERAL"; AND SECTIONS 250 (A) AND 250 (B), SUBTITLE
"SERVICEMEN'S ABSENTEE VOTING", be and they are hereby
repealed and re-enacted, with amendments; and that the following
sections of the same Article: Section 19 (b), subtitle "Registration
Generally"; Sections 76, 77, and 78, subtitle "Presidential Primaries,"
and Sections 83 (b) and (c) and 85 (b), subtitle "Presidential Con-
ventions," be and they are hereby repealed; AND THAT NEW SEC-
TION 82 (F) BE AND IT IS HEREBY ADDED TO THE SAME
ARTICLE AND TITLE, SUBTITLE "PARTY GOVERNING
BODIES" TO FOLLOW IMMEDIATELY AFTER SECTION 82 (E)
THEREOF; and all to read as follows:

29.

On the fifth Tuesday preceding any primary election and on the Tues-
day [eight] six FIVE and [seven] five FOUR weeks, respectively,
preceding any general election, each board of registry in the respective
counties shall meet at the place designated by the board of supervisors
of elections. The board shall proceed to make a registration of all the
persons in its precincts or districts, as the case may be, who have
not previously registered, who may be entitled to vote at the next
general election and who shall present themselves before said board
of registry for registration. Such person or persons so registered
shall be entitled to vote at all primary and general elections held
thereafter unless such registration shall be cancelled as hereinafter
provided. Notice of such registration days shall be given by the
board of supervisors of elections in each county by newspaper ad-
vertisements and in the discretion of the board by handbills as is
provided for notice of elections in Section 12 of this article.

32.

(a) It shall be the duty of each board of registry, after the close
of the session on the Tuesday [seven] five weeks preceding a general
election, to note for erasure from the registry the names of all
persons appearing thereon known or supposed to be dead, or to have
removed from such precinct or district, or suspected of being dis-
qualified under Sections 2 and 3 of Article I of the Constitution of
the State. The board before separating shall prepare a list of all
persons so noted for erasure with the address of each as it appears
upon the registers, under the following headings: "Deceased Voters,"
"Removed Voters," and "Disqualified Voters."

(c) On the day following preparation of the list of persons so
noted for erasure, it shall be the duty of the member of the board
acting as clerk to sign and mail to the address as given in the
