to fix the hours of sale and consumption of alcoholic beverages
under Class B and Class C beer, wine and liquor licenses in
Garrett County, to change the fine for violation of the sale or
consumption law and to change the fine for Sunday sales under
such licenses.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 98A be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic
Beverages", sub-title "Hours and Days for Sale", to follow immedi-
ately after Section 98 thereof; and that Section 90 (b) (1) of the
said Article and sub-title of the Code be and it is hereby repealed
and re-enacted, with amendments, and all to read as follows:

90.

(b) (1) In the jurisdictions in which this sub-section is appli-
cable, it shall be unlawful for anyone to sell or for any licensed
dealer to deliver, give away or otherwise dispose of any alcoholic
beverages on Sunday. Any person selling or any licensed dealer
delivering, giving away or otherwise disposing of such beverages in
such jurisdictions on Sundays shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and,
upon conviction thereof, shall be fined not exceeding fifty dollars
($50.00) for the first offense and for each succeeding offense shall
be fined not exceeding one hundred dollars ($100.00), or imprisoned
in the county jail for not more than thirty (30) days, or be both
fined and imprisoned, in the discretion of the court. In Garrett
County the fine for violation of this section is fixed in Section 98 A
of this Article.

98A.

(a)  In Garrett County, notwithstanding any provisions of this
Article other than Section 90, the hours during which the privileges
OF SALE conferred by Class B and Class C beer, wine and liquor
licenses may be exercised are from 6 o'clock A.M. to 12 o'clock mid-
night.
ON THE SAME DAY.

(b)  No person shall consume any alcoholic beverages on any
premises which holds a Class B or Class C beer, wine and liquor
license, nor shall any owner, operator, or manager of the premises
knowingly permit such consumption of alcoholic beverages between

12 o'clock midnight and 6 o'clock A. M. on the following day. THE

HOURS OF 1 O'CLOCK A.M. AND 6 O'CLOCK A.M. ON ANY
DAY.

(c)  Any person found consuming any alcoholic beverage in viola-
tion of sub-section (b) herein, or any owner, operator or manager
knowingly permitting any such violation is guilty of a misdemeanor
and upon conviction is fined an amount not to exceed the license fee
for the premises on which the violation occurred.

(d)   Violations of Section 90 of this Article are punishable by a
fine not to exceed two hundred dollars ($200.00).

(e)   The hours specified in this section for the sale OR CON-
SUMPTION of alcoholic beverages are hereby declared to be in
accordance with Eastern Standard Time when such time is effective,
and the hours are in accordance with daylight time when such time
is effective.
