CHAPTER 3
(House Bill 2)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 10-62 of
the Anne Arundel County Code (1957 Edition, being Article 2 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Anne Arundel
County," subtitle "Fire Protection," increasing the special fire tax
levy in the third precinct of the fifth election district of Anne
Arundel County and clarifying the provisions of this Section.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 10-62 of the Anne Arundel County Code (1957 Edition,
being Article 2 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title
"Anne Arundel County," subtitle "Fire Protection," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

10-62.

The county commissioners are hereby authorized and directed to
levy for the year 1956 and annually thereafter a fire tax of five cents
on every one hundred dollars ($100.00) of the assessed value of all
real and personal property located in the first precinct [and] of the
fifth election district and a fire tax of ten cents on every one hundred
dollars ($100.00) of the assessed value of all real and personal prop-
erty located in
the third precinct of the fifth election district.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act is hereby declared
to be an emergency measure and necessary for the immediate pres-
ervation of the public health and safety and having been passed by
a yea and nay vote supported by three-fifths of all the members elected
to each of the two houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 4
(House Bill 63)

AN ACT to add new Section 11(d-1) to Article 2B of the Annotated
Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic Beverages,"
subtitle "Beer Licenses," to follow immediately after Section 11 (d)
thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section
11 (n) of the said Article and subtitle of the Code (1963 Supple-
ment) , to authorize the issuance of Class D beer licenses for taverns
in Caroline County and to fix the fee for issuance of such licenses.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 11(d-1) be and it is hereby added to Article 2B of
the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title "Alcoholic
Beverages," subtitle "Beer Licenses," to follow immediately after
Section 11 (d) thereof; and to repeal and re-enact, with amendments,
Section 11 (n) of the said Article and subtitle of the Code (1963
Supplement), and both to read as follows:
