AFTER RECESS

At 8:45 o'clock P. M., the Senate resumed its session.
Present at roll call were the following Senators:

REPORT OF STANDING COMMITTEE

Senator Malkus asked that the rules be suspended in order to report
the following bill and two-thirds of the Senators-elect, voting in the
affirmative, the rules were suspended by yeas and nays as follows:

Senate Bill No. 13—By Senator James:

Subject: "ELECTIONS," subtitle "HOUSE OF REPRESENTA-
TIVES," RELATING GENERALLY TO THE BOUNDARIES OF THE
SEVERAL CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICTS IN THIS STATE.

Amendments to Senate Bill No. 13
By the Committee:

Amendment No. 1—Strike out all of Lines 1 through 7, inclusive, of
Section 162 on Page 2 of the printed bill and insert in lieu thereof the
following:

"162. The Third Congressional District is composed of those por-
tions of Anne Arundel County within the boundaries of Election Dis-
tricts Three and Five; and of those portions of Baltimore City within
Wards 1, 2 and 3; and within that portion of Precinct 1 of Ward 4 lying
southerly from Baltimore Street; and of Wards 6, 7, 8, 22, 23, and 24
and of Precincts 12 through 19, inclusive, of Ward 25 and of Precincts 1
through 34, inclusive, of Ward 26, and of Precinct 1 of Ward 27."

Amendment No. 2—Strike out all of Lines 1 through 9, inclusive, of
Section 163 on Page 2 of the printed bill and insert in lieu thereof the
following:

"163. The Fourth Congressional District is composed of those por-
tions of Baltimore City within Ward 4, excluding that portion of Precinct
1 lying southerly from Baltimore Street and is composed of Wards 5, 9,
10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19 and of Precincts 35 through 45, inclusive,
of Ward 26 and of Precincts 2 through 80, inclusive, of Ward 27."

Amendment No. 3—In Line 4 of Section 164 on Page 2 of the printed
bill, strike out the following: "and 6" and insert in lieu thereof the
following: "6 and 13".
