Senate Bill No. 3—By Senators Derr and G. R. Hughes:

A Bill entitled: An Act to repeal Sections 159-166A, inclusive, of Ar-
ticle 33 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition and 1963 Supple-
ment), title "Elections", subtitle "House of Representatives", and to enact
in lieu thereof new Sections 159-166A, inclusive, to stand in the place of
the sections so repealed, revising the several Congressional districts in this
State for the election of representatives in the Congress of the United
States, creating a new Eighth District, and relating generally to the boun-
daries of the several Congressional Districts and the election of representa-
tives to fill such offices.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Committee on
Rules.

Senate Bill No. 4—By Senator Malkus:

A Bill entitled: An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 145 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Dorchester County (1961
Edition) being Article 10 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Dorchester County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court
Stenographer"; this section being also Section 6 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Somerset County (1963 Edition), being Article 20 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Somerset County", sub-title "Circuit
Court"; this section being also Section 12(a) of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edition); being Article 23 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland, title "Wicomico County", sub-title "Circuit
Court", sub-heading "Court Stenographer"; and this section being also Sec-
tion 123 (a) of the Code of Public Local Laws of Worcester County (1961
Edition), being Article 24 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland,
title "Worcester County", sub-title "Circuit Court", sub-heading "Court
Stenographer", increasing the compensation of the Court Stenographer in
the counties of Dorchester, Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester.

Senate Bill No. 5—By Senator Sanford:

A Bill entitled: An Act to authorize the County Commissioners of
Worcester County to enter into an agreement with the County Commis-
sioners of Somerset County for the purpose of indemnifying the County
Commissioners of Somerset County from any and all damages, court costs,
counsel fees, and other costs that may be payable by the County Commis-
sioners of Somerset County by reason of the dredging and construction of
a certain canal or channel in Pocomoke Sound together with any costs in-
curred by the County Commissioners of Somerset County as a result of
the dredging and construction of this canal or channel, under a contract with
some agency or agencies of the United States government.

Rules.

A Bill entitled: An Act to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sec-
tion 9 (24) of Article 81 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963 Supple-
