CHAPTER 110
(House Bill 191)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 211(f)
of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of Vehicles upon High-
ways," imposing penalties for failure to decrease speeds of motor
vehicles on highways to avoid collisions with persons, vehicles
and conveyances and eliminating the minimum penalty for a viola-
tion of paragraph (d) of Section 211.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 211 (f) of Article 66½ of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition), title "Motor Vehicles," subtitle "Operation of
Vehicles upon Highways," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

211.

(f) Violation of paragraphs (a), (b), (c), (d), (e), and (h) of
this section shall be deemed to be a misdemeanor and any person upon
conviction shall be fined not more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).
[Violation of paragraph (d) shall be deemed to be a misdemeanor
and any person upon conviction shall be fined not less than ten dollars
($10.00) nor more than one hundred dollars ($100.00).]

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

Approved April 7, 1964.

CHAPTER 111
(House Bill 225)

AN ACT, to repeal and re-enact with amendments section 12 (a)(9)
(ii) of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition
and 1963 Supplement), title "Fees of Officers," subtitle "Clerks of
Court," relating to fees for recording deeds, mortgages or other
papers where a block system is maintained.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That section 12 (a) (9) (ii) of Article 36 of the Annotated Code of
Maryland (1957 Edition and 1963 Supplement), title "Fees of Offi-
cers," subtitle "Clerks of Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted with amendments as follows:

12(a)(9)

(ii) In Baltimore City or any county where a block system and a
grantor-grantee system is maintained for recording of deeds, mort-
gages or other papers required to be recorded among the land records
—for each one hundred words or figures or fraction thereof, $.45 for
recording or $2.00 $2.50 per page or portion thereof for recording as
