Sec. 3. And be it further enacted, That Sections 331, 332 and 333
of the said Article and sub-title (1963 Supplement), be and they
are hereby repealed.

Sec. 4. And be it further enacted, That the provisions of this Act
shall not be construed to extend or apply to the estates of dece-
dents dying prior to the effective date of this Act.

Sec. 5. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

CHAPTER 109
(House Bill 159)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 54 of
Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition), title
"Courts," subtitle "Juvenile Causes," extending the application
OF THE EXEMPTION AS TO MINORS THEREIN thereof to
violations of the State Boat Act by minors.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 54 of Article 26 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Courts," subtitle "Juvenile Causes," be and the
same is hereby repealed and re-enacted with amendments to read as
follows:

54.

Any child brought before the judge in the exercise of the aforesaid
jurisdiction shall be charged only as a dependent child, a delinquent
child, a neglected child, a feeble-minded child, or as a child coming
within two or more of these terms, and shall not be charged with the
commission of any crime. The judge shall then determine whether or
not such child comes within any of the aforesaid terms and is, by
reason thereof, in need of care or treatment within the provisions and
intent of this subtitle. If any such child is charged with the commis-
sion of an act or acts which would amount to a misdemeanor or felony
if committed by an adult, the judge, after full investigation, may in
his discretion waive jurisdiction and order such child held for action
under the. regular procedure that would follow if such act or acts had
been committed by an adult. He shall have no jurisdiction in any
instance in which a minor is charged with the violation of any pro-
vision of Article 66½ or Article 14B of the Annotated Code, or of
any other traffic law or ordinance, other than manslaughter by auto-
mobile, unauthorized use or occupancy of a motor vehicle or operating
a motor vehicle while under the influence of intoxicating liquors or
drugs.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.
