forward to the State Department of Health this proof if and when
it is requested by the Department.
(c) The State Board of Health and Mental Hygiene may delegate
to the Commissioner of the State Department of Health authority to
detain shipments of imported shellfish and food products containing
shellfish and/or portions of shellfish from questionable or uncertified
sources for such action as may be necessary.
(d) The State Department of Health may condemn and destroy
shellfish and food products containing shellfish and/or shellfish por-
tions imported into the State from uncertified sources.
(e) Any person who handles, receives or possesses uncertified shell-
fish and food products containing uncertified shellfish and/or shell-
fish portions in violation of this section shall be subject to a fine of
not more than $500.00 for each offense. Each and every such viola-
tion shall constitute a separate offense.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1964.

(Senate Bill 207)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 251A of
Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1963 Supp.), title
"Public Education", sub-title "University of Maryland", provid-
ing, as to any branch CERTAIN BRANCHES of the University
of Maryland located in Baltimore County, that the non-academic
employees thereof be subject to the Merit System Law, and that
all purchases for such branches be subject to the authority of the
Central Purchasing Bureau and relating generally to the Univer-
sity of Maryland.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 251A of Article 77 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1963 Supp.), title "Public Education", sub-title "University of
Maryland", be and the same is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, all to read as follows:
Article 77
251A. Branches
The University of Maryland is authorized and empowered to con-
struct, maintain, equip, repair and operate branches of the Univer-
sity within the geographical confines of Baltimore County, the central
Eastern Shore area, the central western Maryland area and the
southern Maryland area of this state; STATE; provided, however,
that as to any such branch in Baltimore County, the University shall,
with regard to its non-academic personnel, employed and working
therein, be subject to the provisions of Article 64A of the Annotated
