(House Bill 1066)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 57(f) of
Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle "County Commis-
sioners," as said Section was last enacted by Chapter 353 of the
Acts of 1961, increasing the maximum appropriation that can be
made to the Economic Development Commission of St. Mary's Coun-
ty by the County Commissioners of that County from $7,000 to
$10,000.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 57(f) of Article 19 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "St. Mary's County," subtitle
"County Commissioners," as said Section was last enacted by Chapter
353 of the Acts of 1961, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

57.

(f) The County Commissioners shall appropriate for the expenses
of the Director of the Commission such sum as may be approved
from time to time by the Economic Development Commission, not to
exceed in any one year the sum of $3,000. The County Commissioners,
with the approval of the Economic Development Commission, also
shall appropriate the sum of $2,000 annually for promotional work
to be conducted by the Commission. In the discretion of the County
Commissioners they may appropriate an additional sum for promo-
tional work, such additional sum in any year not to exceed [$2,000]
$5,000. All payments by the County Commissioners shall be made
only upon receipt of vouchers or bills approved by the Commission
or the Director, as the case may be, and in no event may the credit
of the county be pledged in any one year in excess of the sum of
[$7,000] $10,000.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1963.

(House Bill 1067)

AN ACT to add a new Section 58A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of St. Mary's County (1930 Edition, being Article 19 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's County,"
subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately after Sec-
tion 58 thereof, authorizing the appropriation of $40,000.00 by the
County Commissioners of St. Mary's County for the addition to
the St. Mary's Hospital.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 58A be and it is hereby added to the Code of Public
