Local Laws of St. Mary's County (1930 Edition, being Article 19 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "St. Mary's
County," subtitle "County Commissioners," to follow immediately
after Section 58 thereof and to read as follows:
58 A.
The County Commissioners of St. Mary's County are authorized to
appropriate the sum of $40,000.00, TO BE PAID AT THE RATE
OF $10,000.00 PER YEAR OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS,
on and after the effective date of this Act, to St. Mary's Hospital.
Such funds shall be used for the construction of the addition to the
hospital which has been planned and approved and for no other
purposes.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
July 1, 1963.

AN ACT to add new Section 396B to Article 20 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somerset County,"
subtitle "Tax Exemptions," to follow immediately after Section
396A thereof, as added by Chapter 702 of the Acts of 1961, to
provide for an exemption from county taxation in Somerset County
for new manufacturing industries locating in the county and relat-
ing generally to such a tax exemption.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 396B be and it is hereby added to Article 20 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Somer-
set County," subtitle "Tax Exemptions," to follow immediately after
Section 396A thereof, as added by Chapter 702 of the Acts of 1961,
and to read as follows:
396B.
For the purpose of encouraging the location of new industries in
Somerset County and for the purpose of encouraging the growth and
development of factories, manufacturing industries, fabricating or
assembling facilities, industrial plants and the like in county, the
County Commissioners of said county are hereby authorized and
empowered to exempt from county taxation such factories, manu-
facturing industries, fabricating or assembling facilities, industrial
plants and the like, and the land, machinery and tools therewith used,
and stock in trade or products thereof as may be located in said
county, as herein provided:
(a) The County Commissioners shall determine what factories,
manufacturing industries, fabricating or assembling facilities, in-
dustrial plants and the like are within the meaning and purpose of
this statute.
