CHAPTER 28
(Senate Bill 56)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 163 of
Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930
Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-title "Junk", amending the
local laws of Calvert County concerning dealers in junk and second-
hand goods in order to remove therefrom an obsolete reference to
the payment of fines to informers and the disposition of certain
monies into the public school fund.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 163 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-title "Junk",
be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to
read as follows:
163. It shall not be lawful for any person or corporation in Calvert
County dealing in junk or second-hand goods to buy or purchase from
any person under twenty-one years, any brass, copper, iron or junk
of any kind without having first obtained permission, signed by the
parent or guardian of the said minor child offering the said brass
or other junk for sale, to sell brass or other junk to the said dealer.
Any person or corporation violating this section shall be deemed
guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof before a justice
of the peace shall be liable to a fine not less than ten dollars ($10.00),
nor more than thirty dollars ($30.00), for each and every offense
[, one-half of the said fine to be paid to the informer, the remainder
to the public school fund of said county].
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 29
(Senate Bill 57)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 168-174, inclusive, of Article 5 of the Code
of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert
County", sub-title "Justices of the Peace and Constables"; and to
repeal Sections 174A-174R of said Article and sub-title, as enacted
by Chapter 544 of the Acts of 1935, and to repeal said sub-title;
repealing certain obsolete local laws of Calvert County concerning
justices of the peace, constables and police justices, which laws
relate generally to the duties, powers, authority, jurisdiction, ap-
pointment, and tenure of such officials in Calvert County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 168-174, inclusive, of Article 5 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-
title "Justices of the Peace and Constables", be and they are hereby
