county, shall by said sheriff, justices of the peace and other officers
be paid to the treasurer for said county within thirty days after
receiving same, to be used by said treasurer in liquidating any debts
against the county, said sum to be accounted for by said treasurer
in his reports to the County Commissioners in the same manner, and
at the same time as taxes are now accounted for, the said treasurer
to receive three per cent on all moneys thus paid over to him.]
[149. Any sheriff, justice of the peace or any other officers of
Calvert County, refusing or neglecting to comply with the provisions
of this sub-title, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and subject to fine
of not less than ten nor more than one hundred dollars or imprison-
ment at the discretion of the court.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 27
(Senate Bill 55)
AN ACT to repeal Sections 153 and 154 of Article 5 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert
County", sub-title "Hawks", and to repeal said sub-title, repealing
obsolete and unnecessary local laws of Calvert County concerning
the payment of bounties for the killing of hawks and owls.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 153 and 154 of Article 5 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Calvert County", sub-title
"Hawks", and that said sub-title be and they are hereby repealed, as
follows:

[153. The County Commissioners of Calvert County are hereby
authorized and directed to levy a sum of money that may be necessary
at their annual levy in April, 1906, and each year thereafter, as
surplus to pay for killing hawks and owls in Calvert County.]
[154. Any person who shall kill any hawk or owl (small owls and
fish hawks excepted) shall be paid the sum of fifty cents for each
hawk and fifty cents for each owl upon presenting to the County
Commissioners the scalp of the hawks and owls and make affidavit
that the same was killed in Calvert County subsequent to the passage
of this Act by the person who presents the same. The same to be paid
out of the surplus levied as aforesaid.]
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
