tion or otherwise from one account to another, except with the
Commissioner's approval.

(i) No insurer shall, in connection with the allocation of invest-
ments or expenses, or in any other respect, discriminate unfairly
between separate accounts or between a separate account and the
insurer's general investment account, but this provision shall not
require the insurer to follow uniform investment policies for its
accounts.

(j) Investments made with respect to separate accounts shall be
valued for the purpose of any valuation required by this article at
their market value on the date of valuation, or if there is no readily
available market, then in accordance with the terms of the agreement
referred to in sub-section (b) of this section.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963. IT IS THE LEGISLATIVE INTENT THAT IF SAID
CHAPTER............ (SENATE BILL 1) IS ENACTED AND EFFEC-
TIVE AT THAT TIME, THIS ACT THEN BECOMES SECTION
96A OF ARTICLE 48A OF THE CODE AS THEREIN REVISED.
IF SAID CHAPTER ............ (SENATE BILL 1) HAS BEEN EN-
ACTED BUT IS NOT YET EFFECTIVE AT THAT TIME, THIS
ACT BECOMES SECTION 28A OF ARTICLE 48A OF THE CODE
(1957 EDITION AS AMENDED) UNTIL SUCH TIME AS CHAP-
TER ............ (SENATE BILL 1) BECOMES EFFECTIVE, AT

WHICH TIME THIS ACT SHALL BECOME SECTION 96A IN
ARTICLE 48A AS THUS REVISED. IF SENATE BILL 1 HAS
NOT BEEN ENACTED DURING THE 1963 REGULAR SESSION
OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, THIS ACT CONTINUES AS
SECTION 28A OF ARTICLE 48A OF THE CODE UNTIL SUCH
TIME AS IT IS LATER CHANGED BY LAW.

(Senate Bill 241)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 292 of
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition—being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Salaries of Clerks of
Courts", as amended by Chapter 775 of the Laws of 1957, provid-
ing for the compensation for the trust clerk of the Supreme Bench
of Baltimore City.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 292 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Balti-
more City (1949 Edition—being Article 4 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Baltimore City", sub-title "Salaries
of Clerks of Courts", as amended by Chapter 775 of the Laws of
1957, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments,
to read as follows:

292. The Comptroller of the State of Maryland is hereby directed
to draw a warrant upon the State Treasurer for the payment in
