be, in their opinion, reasonable and proper; and the County Commis-
sioners shall levy for the same as expenses of the State's Attorney's
office. These bills must be presented direct to the County Commis-
sioners made out and sworn to on the regular forms now in use by
the County Commissioners, and must be certified to by the State's
Attorney, and all false swearings in such reports and affidavits shall
be deemed perjury and punished as such.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 260
(Senate Bill 485)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 6(f) of
Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement),
title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Civil Jurisdiction", and to
add new sub-section (f-1) to Section 6 of Article 52, Annotated
Code of Maryland (1962 Supplement), titled as aforesaid increas-
ing the civil jurisdiction of trial magistrates in Dorchester County
from $500.00 to $1,000.00 in all cases instituted after June 1, 1963.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 6(f) of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1962 Supplement), title "Justices of the Peace", sub-title "Civil
Jurisdiction", be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, and that new sub-section (f-1) be and it is hereby added
to Section 6 of Article 52 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1962
Supplement), titled as aforesaid, both to read as follows:
6. (f) Five hundred dollars in certain other counties.—Trial
magistrates of [Dorchester County and] Talbot County shall have
civil jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore mentioned in this section,
instituted after June 1, 1953, and involving amounts not exceeding
five hundred dollars.
(f-1) Trial magistrates of Dorchester County shall have civil
jurisdiction in all cases hereinbefore mentioned in this section, in-
stituted after June 1, 1963, and involving amounts not exceeding one
thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
