1961, to change the power granted to the County Commissioners of
Queen Anne's County to regulate fortune tellers in the county by
amending requirements for licensing and penalties for violations.
THE FEE THEREFOR.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 183B(8A) of Article 18 of the Code of Public Local
Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's County", sub-
title "County Commissioners", which section was added by Chapter
148 of the Acts of 1961, be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:
183B.
(8A). To license and regulate all persons engaged in the telling of
fortunes, such persons being commonly known as fortune tellers,
palmists, or soothsayers. No such person shall be licensed unless he
[has been a resident of the county for at least five THREE years.

fee for a license under this section shall be not less than [one thou-
sand dollars ($1,000.00)] five hundred dollars ($500.00).
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 98 and
99 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Allegany County (1955
Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Mary-
land), title "Allegany County", sub-title "County Treasurer",
amending the local laws of Allegany County in order to clarify and
correct errors in the laws relating to the County Treasurer of
Allegany County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Sections 98 and 99 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Alle-
gany County (1955 Edition, being Article 1 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland), title "Allegany County", sub-title "County
Treasurer", be and they are hereby repealed and re-enacted, with
amendments, to read as follows:
98. It shall be the duty of the County Commissioners as soon as
the annual levy shall have been made to give public notice thereof by
advertisements, inserted once a week for three successive weeks in a
newspaper published in said county, and for the [collectors of their
respective districts] Tax Collector to prepare the bills of each tax-
payer [in his collection district], and on application he shall forward
the bill by mail or deliver the same to the person or corporation to
whom the property included in such bill is assessed.
