the city of Salisbury such sum of money as may be provided by the
contract in consideration for the city taking title to the bridges. The
County Commissioners are authorized to raise the money needed to
fulfill said contract by levying an ad valorem tax upon the property
in Wicomico County, Maryland, subject to taxation by the County
Commissioners of the County, sufficient to pay the sum to the city of
Salisbury and said money may be raised over such period of time as
may be agreed upon in the contract.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to add new Section 314 to Article 18 of the Code of Public
Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen Anne's
County," to immediately precede Section 315 thereof and to be
under the new subtitle "Peddlers," Section 315 having been added
by Chapter 832 of the Acts of 1961, to require the registration
with the County Commissioners of Queen Anne's County of persons
peddling or selling goods, wares or merchandise from door-to-
door in the county, relating to such registration and providing
penalties for violations.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 314 be and it is hereby added to Article 18 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition), title "Queen
Anne's County," to immediately precede Section 315 thereof and to
be under the new subtitle "Peddlers," Section 315 having been added
by Chapter 832 of the Acts of 1961, and to read as follows:
314.
(a) It is unlawful for any person who is not a resident of Queen
Anne's County to conduct the business of or act as an itinerant or
door-to-door peddler or salesman of goods, wares or merchandise,
either by sample or otherwise in Queen Anne's County unless he has
registered with the County Commissioners.
(b) The County Commissioners shall prepare and have available
application forms for a peddler's license, containing such provisions
and information as in the opinion of the County Commissioners
may be necessary to keep a proper and complete listing of the persons
in Queen Anne's County who are engaged in this occupation from
time to time. Such person shall also file a bond with sureties approved
by the County Commissioners in the amount of one thousand dollars
($1,000). The license shall be issued upon application at a cost of
five dollars ($5.00) for each year; and the cost shall not be prorated
for portions of a year. The license year begins as of January 1.
(c) Nothing in this section shall be construed or used to apply to any
person who is going from door-to-door in any activity or enterprise
