In Harford County, the board of license commissioners shall not
approve any license to sell alcoholic beverages within three hundred
feet of any school, church or other place of worship. This section
shall not affect any license existing on June 1, 1963 or the renewal
or transfer of such license unless transferred to a new location.
Measurement of the required distance shall be made from the nearest
point of the building of the proposed establishment to the nearest
point of the building of the school, church or other place of worship.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 403)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 3 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County (1959 Edition,
being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Wicomico County," subtitle "Bridges," subheading "Bridges
at Salisbury," to authorize the County Commissioners of Wicomico
County to contract with the City of Salisbury for the transferral of
ownership and maintenance of two drawbridges across the Wi-
comico River to the city and to authorize an appropriation of money
to the city for ownership and maintenance of the bridges.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 3 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Wicomico County
(1959 Edition, being Article 23 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland), title "Wicomico County," subtitle "Bridges," subheading
"Bridges at Salisbury," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted,
with amendments, to read as follows:

The County Commissioners of Wicomico County are hereby author-
ized and empowered to erect and maintain two draw bridges, in
Salisbury, over the South Prong of the Wicomico River, one at a
point where said prong is crossed by Camden Street, the other where
said prong is crossed by Division Street, with draws in each of said
bridges of sufficient size to leave, at least, forty feet of said river clear
for navigation, and to erect and maintain one draw bridge over
Wetipquin Creek at the point where the ferry is now operated across
said creek in Wicomico County. The County Commissioners are au-
thorized and empowered to enter into a contract with the city of
Salisbury for the purpose of transferring the ownership and future
maintenance of the draw bridges located across the Wicomico River
at Camden Street and Division Street to the city of Salisbury, the
contract to provide that all future construction and maintenance
work on the bridges shall be at the expense of the city. The County
Commissioners are further authorized and empowered to pay unto
