2174 JOINT RESOLUTIONS
Resolved, That the Commission be and it is hereby directed to
make its final report to the 1965 Session of the General Assembly of
Maryland in order that its findings may be considered in relation
to the final report of the Baltimore Metropolitan Area Study Com-
mission; and be it further
Resolved, That the Secretary of State shall send copies of this
Resolution to the Baltimore Metropolitan Area Study Commission,
the Mayor of Baltimore City, the County Executive of Baltimore
County and to the Presidents of the Boards of County Commissioners
of Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties.

(House Joint Resolution 36)
House Joint Resolution requesting the Governor to direct the Board
of Public Works to make funds available to governments of Mont-
gomery, Prince George's and Charles Counties, and the Washington
Suburban Sanitary District, for undertaking and continuing studies
on a regional basis of problems of water supply, sewage disposal,
solid waste disposal and storm drainage in the Maryland portion
of the Washington metropolitan area.
Whereas, the Joint Committee on Washington metropolitan area
problems of the 86th Congress of the United States, pursuant to
Resolution 172 of the 85th Congress, recommended the creation of a
Regional Sanitary Board; and
Whereas, pursuant thereto there was formed on July of 1959 a
Regional Sanitary Board to promote coordination of the water supply
and sewerage problems in the metropolitan area of Washington; and
Whereas, Maryland membership of the Board is composed of rep-
resentatives of Montgomery County, Prince George's County, Charles
County, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, City of
Rockville, Maryland State Board of Health and the Water Pollution
Control Commission, and other members of the Board are represent-
atives of corresponding political subdivisions and state agencies of
Virginia and representatives of the District of Columbia and the
Federal Government; and
Whereas, the Regional Sanitary Board has undertaken and is able
to continue, subject to availability of funds, studies in the fields of
water supply, sewage disposal, solid waste disposal and storm drain-
age problems; and
Whereas, such studies are financed by contributions made by
members of the Board; and
Whereas, the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission, at the
request of Montgomery, Prince George's and Charles Counties, and
other members of the Board, has acted as the agency to receive and
administer the funds of the Board; and
