AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 445 of
the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore City (1949
Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws of
Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 568 of the Acts of 1949, title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court", providing for addi-
tional court costs when the amount in controversy exceeds $100.00.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 445 of the Charter and Public Local Laws of Baltimore
City (1949 Edition), being Article 4 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland, as enacted by Chapter 568 of the Acts of 1949, title
"Baltimore City", sub-title "People's Court", be and it is hereby re-
pealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

445. On and after June 1 [1951] 1963 in all cases instituted in
the People's Court of Baltimore City where the amount in contro-
versy exceeds the sum of $100.00 exclusive of summary ejectment
cases arising under Sections 455-462 inclusive of the Public Local
Laws of Baltimore City, 1949 Edition, as amended, there shall be
paid at the time of filing suit to the Chief Constable of the People's
Court, for the use of the Mayor and City Council of Baltimore City,
in addition to the fees and costs prescribed by Section 444 of this
sub-title, the sum of fifty cents for each additional One Hundred Dol-
lars ($100.00) or fraction thereof in controversy [.] , with a maxi-
mum of $5.00 of such additional costs.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Sections 148 (d),
148 (g) and 155 (s) of Article 2B of the Annotated Code of Mary-
land (1957 Edition and 1962 Supplement), title "Alcoholic Bev-
erages", sub-title "Boards of License Commissioners", to increase
the composition of the board of license commissioners of St. Mary's
County, and changing the tenure and salaries of its members, and
generally relating to the Board of License Commissioners of St.
Mary's County. AND TO ADD NEW SECTION 158 (J-1)
