(d) The County Commissioners of Carroll County may prescribe
the charging of a fee for the issuance of a building permit, and the
amount of the fee shall be determined according to the cost to the
County of administering the health, zoning, subdivision housing,
building, plumbing and electrical codes or regulations. The County
Commissioners, in their discretion, may prescribe rules and regula-
tions for the posting of the building permit upon the property on
which the erecting, constructing, repairing, altering or remodeling
is to be undertaken.
(e) If any person, firm or corporation shall proceed to erect,
construct, repair, alter or remodel any building or structure, or part
thereof, without first having obtained a building permit, AS HEREIN
REQUIRED he shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction
thereof before a magistrate or circuit court for Carroll County, shall
be fined not less than Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) and costs nor more
than One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) and costs, which fine shall be in
addition to any fee charged for obtaining the building permit required
under this section.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.

(House Bill 934)
AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 329 of
the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County (1959 Edition,
being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland),
title "Kent County," subtitle "Notices," amending the law with
respect to notice or advertising required by law in newspapers
in Kent County.
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 329 of the Code of Public Local Laws of Kent County
(1959 Edition, being Article 15 of the Code of Public Local Laws
of Maryland), title "Kent County," subtitle "Notices," be and it is
hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
329.
It shall be considered sufficient compliance in Kent County as
respects any notice or advertising required by law to be [printed
or] published therein that such notice or advertising be printed and
published in one or more newspapers [printed and] published in
Kent County.
Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
