Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect

CHAPTER 757
(House Bill 500)

AN ACT to repeal and re-enact, with amendments, Section 255 (h) of
Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Edition),
title "Testamentary Laws," subtitle "Orphans' Court," providing
an expense allowance for the judges of the Orphans' Court of
Kent County and providing increased compensation for new
judges of the Orphans' Court of Kent County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Section 255 (h) of Article 93 of the Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), title "Testamentary Laws," subtitle "Orphans'
Court," be and it is hereby repealed and re-enacted, with amend-
ments, to read as follows:

255.

(h) The Chief Judge of the Orphans' Court for Kent County shall
receive the sum of thirteen dollars and fifty cents ($13.50) and each
of the other judges shall each receive the sum of eleven dollars
($11.00) for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said court.
Each of the said judges also shall receive an expense allowance in
the amount of three hundred dollars ($300.00) annually to be paid
beginning with the month of June, 1968, at the rate of twenty-five
dollars ($25.00) monthly. Any person who becomes chief judge of
the Orphans' Court for Kent County after the effective date of this
statute shall receive as his sole compensation with no additional
allowance for expenses the sum of nineteen dollars and fifty cents
($19.50) for every day's attendance upon the sessions of said court;
and any person who becomes a judge of the Orphans' Court for Kent
County, either by election or re-election, after the effective date of
this section shall receive as his sole compensation with no additional
allowance for expenses the sum of seventeen dollars ($17.00) for
every day's attendance upon the sessions of said court.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June 1, 1963.
