$5,000 to the Charles County Central Fire Watch which is pres-

ently maintained at the La Plata Fire House. This appropriation to
the Fire Watch may be used for the payment of employees.

$6,000 TO THE BEL ALTON FIRE DEPARTMENT
122.

(A)  The County Commissioners shall pay the sum of [$1,200]
$2,000 annually to each of the following rescue squads of the County:

1.   The Indian Head Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad,
Inc.

2.   The Potomac Heights Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue
Squad, Inc.

3.   The Fifth District Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue
Squad, Inc.

4.   The Benedict Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad,
Inc.

5.   The Waldorf Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Inc.

(B)  AT THE END OF EACH FISCAL YEAR EACH RESCUE
SQUAD TO WHICH MONEY IS PAID BY THE COUNTY COM-
MISSIONERS SHALL SUBMIT A CERTIFIED FINANCIAL
STATEMENT OF ITS OPERATIONS FOR THAT YEAR TO THE
COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. THE STATEMENT SHALL IN-
CLUDE THE NUMBER OF EMERGENCY CALLS ANSWERED
BY THAT SQUAD AND THE ACTUAL OPERATING COSTS OF
VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT INCURRED IN ANSWERING
SUCH EMERGENCY CALLS. THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS
SHALL AUDIT SUCH STATEMENTS AND SHALL IN ADDI-
TION TO THE AMOUNTS PROVIDED IN SUBSECTION (A)
HEREOF REIMBURSE THE RESCUE SQUADS FOR THE
ACTUAL OPERATING EXPENSES OF VEHICLES AND
EQUIPMENT INCURRED IN ANSWERING EMERGENCY
CALLS TO THE EXTENT THAT SUCH COSTS EXCEED $1000.00
ANNUALLY.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That this Act shall take effect
June JULY 1, 1963.

CHAPTER 740
(House Bill 784)

AN ACT to add new Section 127A to the Code of Public Local Laws
of Charles County (1959 Edition, being Article 9 of the Code of
Public Local Laws of Maryland), title "Charles County," subtitle
"Hucksters," to follow immediately after Section 127 thereof,
establishing licensing requirements for certain door-to-door sales-
men in Charles County and prescribing the fee therefor.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That new Section 127A be and it is hereby added to the Code of
